Common Questions About Mental Performance Coaching
-
Mental performance coaching helps athletes develop psychological skills such as confidence, focus, emotional regulation, and resilience to improve performance and well-being.
-
Athletes ages 15 and older, including high school, college, and competitive athletes.
-
Sessions are typically 50–60 minutes and held virtually.
-
Please check out my Services page for coaching services and fees.
-
I have a rescheduling-only policy for cancellations or missed sessions. Once coaching services are scheduled, payment is expected at that time. You can contact my office by email or phone (with at least 24 hours’ notice) to discuss rescheduling options.
Here’s how it works:
Payment Schedule: Clients are charged immediately after coaching services are booked.
Rescheduling Fees: If you reschedule prior to 24 hours of your originally scheduled appointment, the fee for your original session will apply to the rescheduled session. If you cannot reschedule, the original session fee will serve as a cancellation fee.
No-shows: Appointments rescheduled after the 24-hour mark will be forfeited. Missed appointments without notice will be forfeited.
-
Parent involvement is optional and encouraged when appropriate.
-
Many athletes begin noticing improvements within the first few sessions, with lasting change developing over structured programs.
-
At this time, yes, I only work with female gender identifying athletes.
-
My services are specifically coaching. Therapy consists of diagnosing specific disorders and treating those diagnoses. Mental performance coaching supports mental and emotional wellness, but does not include diagnosing and treating disorders. Therapy may be something I suggest alongside our work when appropriate. Coaching services are available virtually nationwide.
-
Coaching services are not psychotherapy or healthcare treatment and do not replace mental health counseling or medical care.
-
Respecting personal autonomy is foundational for ethical work. If an athlete is ready to step away from their sport, that is a personal choice. However, I will work to support the athlete’s goals, and as long as that is remaining in sport, we will work together to support her thriving.
